Agave on the Rocks is an evening of cool Latin funk music, hot cuisine and chilled margaritas at Desert Botanical Garden. It’s definitely not your ordinary Garden Party!
 


The top 5 recipes will have been selected and will now be voted on by YOU!. The winning recipe will be served as the “house margarita” at Agave on the Rocks.



If your recipe is chosen as the house margarita, you will receive four free tickets to Agave on the Rocks and a grand prize to be awarded that night.

All tickets must be purchased in advanced. Tickets will not be sold at the door. You must be 21 years of age or older to attend and must show proper id. Ticket price includes two margaritas in a commemorative margarita glass.

1) Adam E's recipe:

1 1/2 oz. Hornitos Reposado tequila
1/2 oz. premium triple sec
1 oz. lime juice
Wet the rim of a cocktail glass with lime juice, and dip in salt.
Shake all ingredients with ice, strain into the glass, and serve.

2) Karen W's recipe:

Using 2 to 1 measurements
mix 2 parts margarita mixer to 1 part Hornitos Reposado tequila
a few berries, ice and mix.

3) John M's recipe:

1 cup of Hornitos Reposado tequila
1 qt. of lemonade
1 full lime sqeezed
splash of sweet and sour
1/2 of a lemon squeezed
3 teaspoons of sugar
1/4 cup of triple sec
Mix all ingredients together and pour over crushed ice.

4) Mary B's recipe:

2 bottles of Hornitos Resposado tequila
1 bottle of Triple Sec
1/2 bottle of sweet and sour mix
32 oz. water
20 oz. citrus juice
Kosher salt for the rim of the glass
Can be served on the rocks or frozen
Serves about 12

5) Billy M's recipe:

Ice
3 1/2 oz. Hornitos Resposado tequila
1 oz. Chambord
2 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
1 oz. simple syrup
1 tbl. salt
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.

6) Carmen W's recipe:

2 oz. Hornitos Resposado tequila
1/2 oz. triple sec
1 oz. lime juice
1 tablespoon pomegranate juice

7) Susi V's recipe:

1 can limeade frozen concentrate
Using limeade can for measurement, add
1 can water
1/2 can triple sec
1 1/2 can Hornitos Resposado tequila
Stir pitcher of mix well.
These are best on the rocks, but can be blended.

8) Cheryl H's recipe:

1 (10-ounce) bag frozen diced mango
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
2/3 cup Hornitos Resposado tequila
2 tbl. orange liqueur
2 tablespoons superfine sugar
2 cups ice water
1 slice orange
1/2 cup fine sugar
Put the first six ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
Wet rim of glass with orange slice and dip in sugar.
