Dallas Brown

Since joining Girl Scout Troop 9 in 5th Grade, Dallas, now in 8th Grade, has completed over 200 hrs of community service. Dallas takes the initiative to inspire others to work with her. She has organized food drives at her school to help Navajo Elders. She has spent countless hours going door-to-door and standing outside grocery stores for food donations. She has gone on 2 trips to take food to Elders on the Navajo Reservation. Last weekend, during a food delivery to The Reservation, when she heard one of the Elders was in the hospital, Dallas declared that the troop would visit her that afternoon. She has volunteered at nursing homes, with Adopt-A-Native-Elder, AZ Greyhound Society, AZ Antelope Foundation, AZ Desert Bighorn Sheep Society, Relay for Life,Pink Ribbon Tour, Tranquility Trail Animal Shelter, Packages From Home, and younger Girl Scout Troops. She has volunteered at her school and at a funeral reception for a GS leader. She has several other events in the pipeline. Dallas gives most of her babysitting money for her volunteer activities. She works very hard at Troop fund raising events, putting in more hours than anyone else, to support her troop\'s volunteer work and other troop activities, including paying for a mini-van to take 7 girls to the last AAF barbed wire fence removal project. When her mom is working, Dallas finds a way to get herself where she needs to be. When asked to pick up dog poop at the home where we went to deliver food to the Navajo Reservation last week, Dallas was the first person with a shovel. There is no job she won\'t do. She has touched lives, improved habitat, and, all around, made the world a better place. She is passionate about her path in helping others. Her volunteer experiences have turned her into the type of leader who inspires others.

Jennifer Anderson
